To send alcohol
- In Parcel Send, begin a new shipment.
- Complete the Recipient details, Delivery instructions and references and Parcel details as normal.
- If the receiving address is in the state of Victoria, a Wine and alcohol declaration will appear. Choose Yes if your shipment containing alcohol is being sent as a gift or to a first-time recipient in Victoria.
- Under Shipping method, select an available wine service. For example, 'Parcel Post Wine', 'Parcel Post Wine + Signature' or any other option listed with ‘wine’ in the service name that fits your needs.
- Complete and send your shipment.
For step 3, why do I need to declare if I’m sending alcohol to an address in Victoria?
This is to ensure that you comply with rules set by the state of Victoria.
For any alcohol being sent to an address in Victoria:
- as a gift
- or to a first-time recipient,
you must select Yes to the Wine and alcohol declaration when creating a shipment.
In these cases, we can only hand over a parcel containing alcohol to the person it's addressed to (the ‘addressee’). The addressee will need to show valid ID proving they’re at least 18 years old and sign for the parcel.
